More trouble for embattled, suspended Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari, as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) begin a probe of the seizure of a large consignment of Tramadol, an illegal drug, in Lagos. The alleged seizure, it was learnt, was not disclosed to the agency. According to Vanguard, NDLEA during the weekend commenced the probe as those close to Kyari in the police were believed to be worried that more alleged illegalities linked to the team led by the police officer may be uncovered. The once-celebrated officer was arrested last week after the NDLEA busted a drug ring operating the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria route. A police report has given details of how members of a syndicate led by suspected Nigerian fraudster Ramon Abass popularly known as Hushpuppi, paid N235, 120, 000 to the younger brother of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police and Head of Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force,  Abba Kyari.  Investigations also revealed that Kyari sent N44m in different transactions to his brother who was acting as a proxy. The police officer who is currently in custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, was suspended by the police last July for his alleged links to Hushpuppi following an indictment by the US Department of Justice after an FBI investigation.  In the report submitted to the Attorney-General of the Federation, it was revealed that a total of N279.120m was sent to Kyari’s younger brother's bank account at various times from the cyber scam syndicate members -Efe Martins (lead coordinator), Sikiru Adekoya, Usman Ibrahim, and Hussaini Ala. 43-year-old Kehinde Oladimeji and his 35-year-old wife Adejumoke Raji arrested over the weekend for being in possession of human parts at Leme area of Ogun State have confessed on how they killed their victim, his wife's friend. While being paraded before newsmen on Monday, February 14, at the Ogun State Police Headquarters, the husband, Oladimeji, revealed that his wife singlehandedly killed her friend, who had paid them a visit. The Nigerian Police on Monday arraigned Mrs Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, at the Federal High Court Abuja. Suspended DCP, Abba Kyari has been arrested, the arrest came just few hours after he was declared wanted by the NDLEA on charges that he had ties to drug cartels strong-arming Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria channel. The police in Abuja have taken Abba Kyari into custody, according to two police sources familiar with the development. The order, according to IHarare, is to ensure every woman gets a husband as it is believed that men taking more wives will help women get husbands. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited may need an estimated N201 billion worth of clean Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to bring 170.25 million litres of adulterated product imported the country up to standard, an analysis of industry data has shown. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority had said on Tuesday that for every 200 litres of the adulterated product, 800 litres of petrol with good quality would be required for the blending that would be done. Going by the NMDPRA’s parameter for the re-blending of the adulterated petrol, the two cargoes, containing a total of 170.25 million adulterated petrol, would require 681 million litres of clean product worth N201bn (based on a landing cost of N295 per litre). The N201bn is a conservative estimate, as there are other costs that would be associated with the re-blending. The Oyo State Government on Wednesday sealed the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) offices in Ibadan over non-payment of over 400 million Naira tax. Tax evasion in Nigeria is punishable under Section 40 of Federal Inland Revenue Service Act. Evasion of tax is one of the problems plaguing the economic growth and development in Nigeria. It involves intentional misrepresentation of one’s true financial status to the tax authorities so as to reduce his/her tax liability. Kannywood actress Sadiya Haruna has been sentenced to six months in prison without the option of a fine for defaming a colleague, Actor Isa A Isa. Sadiya was charged with defaming Isa in a video and posting same on her social media pages. The actress had in a viral video, accused Isa of being a homosexual, a bastard and an unrepentant womanizer and alleged that actor, demanded anal s3x from her in the viral Instagram post. Reading his judgement, Justice Muntari Dandago, said he found the actress guilty on all counts against her. The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has warned Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over his alleged presidential ambition. Reacting, MURIC informed Osinbajo, who is an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), that it was the turn of Muslims in the South-West to rule Nigeria and not Christians.
