Why wives must not compliment mothers-in-law - Counsellor Carstensen

Image
Ghanaian relationship counsellor, Cyril George Carstensen has dropped a piece of advice to house-wives on how to treat their mother-in-laws.  Speaking in an interview with TV3, he said, “Anyone who compliments the mother-in-law has a problem. Anyone nice to the mother-in-law will have a problem in the future. You will never be able to befriend your mother-in-law. It’s depravity and disrespect. My wife and my mother will never be friends. They do not fi*ht, but they are unable to be friends. Respect must be present. The respect comes from the fact that she is an in-law, and you respect her on that level. You are not required to be nice to your mother-in-law. Don’t address her as your mother. She is your wife’s mother-in-law. Don’t be shy about saying it. She is not your mother, but rather your husband’s mother. You will never be her daughter. Remember that.”

FG debunks report of marriages conducted in Ikoyi registry being invalid

The Ministry of Interior has debunked report of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, ruling that all marriages conducted by the Ikoyi marriage registry are illegal and invalid. Permanent Secretary and Principal Registrar of Marriages, Ministry Of Interior, in a statement released on Tuesday evening, December 14, described the report as “false, misleading and a deliberate distortion of the decision of the Court in Suit No: FHC/L/CS/816/18 between Eti-Osa Local Government Council & 3 others”. The ministry said the trial judge held that nothing in the role of local governments, as defined in the Constitution, suggests that local governments can conduct or contract marriages as alleged in their pleadings. It added that the court affirmed that powers of the local governments to contract statutory marriages is derived from the Legal Notices issued by the President. It was also revealed that the Court held that the Suit was an abuse of court process, as it could not be invited to make a

Marriages Conducted At Federal Marriage Registries, Including Ikoyi Registry, Are Invalid

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has ruled that it is unconstitutional for the federal government to conduct marriages. The court, presided over by Justice D. E. Osiagor, held that only the local government marriage registries are empowered to do such by the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). He submitted that the conduct of marriages and issuance of certificates are statutorily the job of the local governments as provided by the law. The judge added that the acts of the federal government through the Ministry of Interior, operating marriage registries is beyond their powers and held that all marriages conducted by federal marriage registries or through their agents are illegal and invalid. It has also granted the Nigerian carrier  the permit to fly directly to Dubai instead of Sharjah Airport, a source said. But, the government said it was unaware of alleged stoppage of Nigerians by the UAE from entering any part of  the Emirates through other carriers. Diplomacy Is Not Weakness - Lessons From Governor Ugwuanyi - Frank Okwudili

Image
People are funny! Annoyingly funny! How can people comfortably talk about someone they barely know and haven’t met?   Innocent Idibia aka Tubaba was indeed right when he said: ‘They don’t know you but they constantly judge you. They don’t don’t know the shape of your head, yet they are constantly shaving it.’ But isn't that understandable? Part of politics, isn’t it? But must everything be politicised? Well, if they don’t talk about you, then you are nobody. It comes with the crown and being in the spotlight. I used to think it was impossible for an individual or a group to cook up stories, selling lies in the name of propaganda.  I was so naïve I would have sworn people are so nice that they won’t go out of their way to hurt others. I was mistaken! Highly! Now I know better. People have huge tendency for mischief. Some sell it. Some buy into it. Some do both with such ease and effortlessness that it seems they were born with the innate gift. Or perhaps they have perfected the art

2023: We I'll Not Allow You Destroy The Peace We Are Enjoying In Enugu State With Your Selfish, Desperate Ambition - Okwudili Tells Ekweremadu

Image
I couldn't imagine how funny it felt reading a piece on Senator Ike Ekweremadu written by Raymond Okechi and published today, 10th December, 2021. It is obvious it was sponsored. Raymond lacked the skill of hiding his intentions, and it is my desire to interrogate some of the points he raised. What makes Ike Ekweremadu the better candidate? According to Raymond, 'Ekweremadu is someone other parties and states are begging to have'. Which parties are begging him to fly their flag? APC? APGA? Ok, I get it. It is supposed to still be secret. Very true, in 2023, it will be 26 solid years since he shot into political limelight. And it is not yet time to retire? Ekweremadu started as chairman of Aninri Local Government Council on the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP). That was in 1997. He has served as secretary to the state government in 2001, Chief of Staff to the governor of Enugu State, from 1999 and 2001. He has been in the Senate since 2003 representing

The student was said to have mentioned the lawmaker’s son alongside four other students before he died. But in a statement signed by Mutairu Kashamu, Adewale’s family said he did not beat or bully Oromoni as alleged. Nollywood actress Ini Edo has welcomed her first child, a baby girl. The 39-year-old recently welcomed the child through a surrogate mother. Confirming the development in an interview with blogger Stella Dimokokorkus, she said, “Yes I do have a daughter and I had her through surrogacy. The Eggs are mine and so genetically she's my blood. I still have a good number of eggs frozen in case I decide to do surrogacy again or carry my baby myself, who knows.” On the baby's father, she said, “I opted for a donor for me and my baby's peace of mind. Another major reason I opted for a donor is because it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby in public forums or when I see the man insisting he wants his child if things dont work out between both parties. For me it's the fear of what that would mean for the child. Ideally, its marriage then children but we are not li
