Kogi vigilante arrests two suspected kidnappers

The Kogi State Vigilante Service has arrested two suspected kidnappers in Dekina Local Government Area of the state. Abocho

The suspects identified as Umoru Garuba and Salifu Ademu, were apprehended in the Ibobo area of Abocho at 2pm on October 21, 2024.

Villagers raised the alarm upon spotting the suspects, prompting a swift response from the Kogi State Vigilante Service, who were on patrol in the vicinity.

The vigilante team successfully detained the suspects, who subsequently confessed to their involvement in the crime.

Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Quick Response Unit (QRU) in Anyigba for further investigation and prosecution.

The spokesperson of the service, S.O Saka, who confirmed the arrest on Tuesday said authorities are continuing to investigate the matter to ensure justice is served and to enhance community safety. 

“Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” he said.

A couple were subjected to hara§§ment from a Federal Road Safety Corps Marshall on Sunday in Ilorin, Kwara State. According to the victims, “This happened around Airport area, Ilorin. My husband explained to him that he was in a hurry to drop the kids and return to the hospital as he was a medical doctor and had patients to attend to. The officer replied saying, ‘and so what?’. Awkward! Man kills his neighbor over plate of food in Kwara State

A man,  Farouk Ojo Ahmed, has reportedly passed away in Ilorin, Kwara State. It was gathered that he was allegedly murdered by his neighbor, Ahmed Yusuf, on Friday, January 28.  According to a source, “Farouk returned from the mosque on that faithful day and was accosted by Ahmed over a plate of food they had bought before heading to the mosque.  An argument ensued which led to a f!ght. Ahmed increased the volume of his sound system so that other neighbors won’t hear Farouk screaming for help. He slammed the victim’s head with a center table and st#bbed him multiple times leaving him in a pool of blood. Farouk was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced de#d while Ahmed is presently thinking about his actions in police detention.”
