Ace Comedian, Acapella Gives Back To Comic Industry With Naija Heirs Of Comedy
Famous Nigerian comedian, Acapella is set to give back to the Nigerian comedy industry with his new reality show, Naija Heirs of Comedy. The Imo State born entertainer who has always reached out to the needy and less privileged in the society, believe it is high time, he gives back to an industry that has helped shaped his life.
Addressing a cross section of journalists at a media roundtable in Lagos, the award winning comedian whose real names are Benneth Chinedu Daniel said the country is full of talented comedians, many of which do not have an opportunity to showcase their crafts, and in other to bridge the gap between these talents and their fame and fortune, there's a need to give them a platform, and that's what Naija Heirs of Comedy was birthed.
In his words, "Let me start by thanking each and everyone of you for your love and support over the years, I wouldn't have gone this far, if not for the media, so I am supper grateful. And to better show my appreciation, this is why myself and my team have put together a great platform for talented comedians to come and sell themselves and get discovered, I am here today because someone gave me a chance to display my talent, so I decided, it is high time, I give back to an industry that have given so much to me"
Speaking on the details of the show, Acapella while listing some of the benefits for the winner, said it is a winner takes it all competition, "It's an initiative to help discover and empower up and coming Stand-Up comedians, to enable creativity and originality from new Stand-Up comics. 10 comedians will be selected to perform before a live audience who will determine the winner with their votes.It is going to be very transparent, so if you are a comedian, and you think you got balls to be the next superstar in the comedy industry, come and grab this golden opportunity."
"There's a sum of N500, 000,00 that will be giving to the emerging winner. Let me also add that this is a winner takes all competition. It will be going down on the 23rd of October 2022 at the prestigious Terra Culture Event Center right here in Lagos. It is an annual project designed to continually help the discovery of new talents and contribute to the growth of the Stand-Up comedy industry. Finally, I can't wait to see the next Acapella, Ali Baba, Basket, Naija Heirs of Comedy will deliver premium entertainment while we watch different comedians as they battle for fame and fortune" He stated.
