God Can Pick Nigeria’s President From Winners Chapel — Bishop Oyedepo

The founder of Living Faith Church (aka Winner Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, has said that God could pick Nigeria’s next president from his denomination.

Oyedepo spoke during a sermon at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State on Sunday.

The Christian cleric appealed to the members of his church aspiring for political positions to always seek counsel.

Oyedepo said, “And it is important for me to mention to members of the church because another time is here now. You better ask counsel of the priest before you torment your life by yourself.

“What office will you win election to that I will now need you? No. My eternal helper is up there, and they know if I have ever asked a thing of anyone. Allow God to lead you. Don’t let greed and avarice lead you.

“Don’t get me wrong, God can pick a president from this church. That President could even be a female.”

Alleged N4.8bn Fraud: Court Adjourns Cletus Ibeto’s Case till Apr 15

  Justice Oyindamola Ogala of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, March 11, 2024 adjourned the alleged N4.8 billion fraud brought against a businessman, Chief Cletus Ibeto, till April 15, 2024. The case, which was initially before Justice I.O. Ijelu, of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, suffered several adjournments due to the absence of the defendant to take his plea with respect to the 10-count charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. He was charged alongside his companies, Ibeto Energy Development Company and Odoh Holdings Ltd. Justice Ijelu had on November 3, 2023 declared Ibeto wanted, based on an application moved by counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN. He also issued a bench warrant for his arrest. However, when the case came up on January 29, 2024, the court informed all parties involved that the case file had been returned to the Chief Judge of the State High Court.
