He is a veteran who also have good will amongst we the younger colleagues...Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi speaks on Pa Kasimu's health

Guess who i walked into this week, Popular nollywood actor cum producer,
Yomi Fabiyi, he was with thenumbers
of nollywood actors and actresses who visited the
veteran actor, Pa Kasimu who is currently battling with liver and heart ailment, i had a brief chat with him about Pa Kasimu's health, this is what he has to say....enyoy

AAP: How is Pa Kasumu's health now?

YF: He is doing well for sure

AAP: Let's talk on actors visit, what did you guys tell him and how much were you guys able to donate so far?

YF: I am not in a position to disclose that. As you can see, ANTP leaders, Jide Kosoko, Sokoti and Yinka Quadri had already swung into action immediately he broke his silence via the media and social media

AAP: .....broke his silence, does that suggest the association were not aware of his sickness as he said it has years on the sickness and nobody visited him?

YF: With due respect to Pa K, he didn't wish members or the association to know about it. I was aware, he phoned me about mid last year, but you could sense he wanted some level of privacy with it. I respect people's wish on such cases. I did all I can privately. It wasn't that the association heard and ignored, he felt he could muddle through without bothering anybody.

AAP: Now I understand. So it is assumed the association got to know and reacted within days now, so what has been the general members response, is there a committee saddled with the responsibilities on his case and who and who are involved?

YF: I am not aware of any official committee. He is a veteran who also have good will amongst we the younger colleagues, we are turning out in numbers as volunteers. Meanwhile we are avoiding multiple source of deposit. All contributions we prefer done in his name or bank account provided by his family

AAP: When is he likely to be flown out for treatment?

YF: that I cannot be specific about but God willing, very soon

AAP: but one would expect your association to dig into your coffers and initiate some initial funds out of the N12m needed or maybe just few of you contribute these?

YF: I doubt if there is such funds, moreover there is crisis at the top level in ANTP, the executive cannot transit, if not for Jide Kosoko who is holding up till date. Also, a situation whereby it has been long members pay levies or fine, it is from such I pre-asumme funds can be initiated or an emergency appeal funds contribution. Actors and film makers would love to do more and foot the bill under emergency situation but PIRACY has eaten deep into our well being. Only 3 out of 100 can boast of steady and secured income. If the 3 cannot be so comfortable as envisaged.

AAP: It is now clear Pa Kasumu was never abadoned by ANTP and no lost love amongst members and claimed in some quarters?

YF: He was never. In the process to encourage him because he always wanted to act despite his ailment, neglect another dangerous sickness to passionate thespians like him. When I was shooting Father Moses, I phoned him if he got the strength. And upon his arrival, I realised he is not too fit. I tried reduce the scenes, I didn't want to de-cast him. He noticed the technical adjustment and infact urged us to reset the equipments and finish his beats. I only kept to his principle by maintaining silence for years because that is what he wanted though I may have regretted it if he didn't broke his silence and the reverse happened.

AAP: hmmmm!, do you have any word for the members of the public on the appeal the veteran sent out?

YF: All I can say is thank you and thank you. May God reward them. And I also wish Pa Kasumu well, he has no Pa K replacement yet, the industry still needs him.

i would also love to inform all Yomi Fabiyi"s fans to watch-out for him on popular tv series titled NO WHERE TO BE FOUND as he is currently on set for the soap
