Gov. Kayode Fayemi Launches Cancer Diagnostic Centre In Honour Of His Late Deputy

Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti on Wednesday inaugurated a
Cancer Diagnostic Centre in honour of the state late Deputy Governor, Mrs Funmilayo Olayinka.
Fayemi said the centre would provide early screening, diagnosis and treatment of various forms of cancer and other chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
He said that the centre would also act as comprehensive centre for the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer and cervical cancer.
“I embarked on this project purposely because breast and cervix cancer killed our amiable deputy governor.
“The two cancers rank as major killers of women in our society and they are no respecter of age and social status.
“In our thinking as government, we appreciate that early diagnosis and effective modality of treatment will ensure that our women no longer die prematurely,” Fayemi said.
